In our innovation center, we focus on the development of biotechnological processes for sustainable resource management and green chemistry through different approaches:
– Advanced fermentation process development: we use liquid and/or gas phase substrates to carry out advanced fermentation processes.
Our goal is to harness the ability of microorganisms to transform substrates into value-added products in an efficient and sustainable manner.
– Application of advanced chemical and enzymatic hydrolysis processes: we use chemical and enzymatic hydrolysis techniques for the treatment of waste and lignocellulosic biomass.
These processes allow us to break down the materials into their basic components, facilitating their subsequent use in the production of bioproducts and biofuels.
– Extraction and purification of active ingredients and proteins by biocatalysis and/or GRAS solvents: we use biocatalysis techniques and GRAS solvents (generally recognized as safe) to extract and purify active ingredients and proteins of interest.
These compounds have applications in the agri-food and pharmaceutical industry, adding value to the final products.
– CO2 bioconversion processes: we specialize in developing carbon dioxide (CO2) bioconversion processes, taking advantage of the capacity of certain microorganisms to use it as a substrate and convert it into valuable compounds.
This technology contributes to mitigate CO2 emissions and promotes a more sustainable management of this greenhouse gas.
Our technology and services are designed to address key challenges in the field of biotechnological processes for sustainable resource management and green chemistry, such as:
– Industrial and forestry waste treatment: we focus on the treatment of waste generated in various industrial and forestry sectors.
Our processes allow us to transform these wastes into value-added products, contributing to reduce their environmental impact and promoting a more sustainable management of resources.
– Obtaining active ingredients in the agri-food sector: we work on obtaining active ingredients with high added value in the agri-food sector.
These compounds have beneficial properties for health and can be used in the formulation of functional foods and nutritional supplements.
– Mitigation of CO2 emissions: our CO2 capture and conversion processes help to reduce the impact of emissions generated by industrial combustion processes.
We contribute to promoting more sustainable chemistry and reducing the carbon footprint of companies.
