Development of climate science technologies and services including integrated assessment models and geospatial analysis.

In our center we focus on the development of technologies and services related to climate science and scenarios for social transformation towards climate neutrality. Our goal is to support public entities and organizations in defining policies and strategies to address climate change and achieve a sustainable energy transition.
Our work focuses on the development of integrated assessment models (IAM) that provide us with a comprehensive view of climate and energy challenges. These models allow us to analyze and evaluate different scenarios and policy options for mitigating climate change and adapting to its impacts. We use geo-referenced information and public data to produce GIS maps and geolocated studies, which provide us with a detailed understanding of climate and energy parameters, as well as potential land use.
In addition, we develop advanced climate services that assist in the definition and evaluation of mitigation and adaptation strategies. These services provide accurate and up-to-date information on climate risks, expected impacts and available response options. Using advanced techniques in multi-scale energy planning, we can analyze the challenges and opportunities in the energy management of buildings and regions, seeking efficient and sustainable solutions.

PROBLEMS IT SOLVES

The issues we address are related to the need to implement effective policies and strategies to address climate change and achieve climate neutrality. We work in collaboration with public entities, providing support in the definition and evaluation of climate and energy policies. Our goal is to assist in the decision-making process, providing information based on rigorous data and analysis, contributing to social transformation towards climate neutrality, promoting sustainability and resilience in the fight against climate change.
Using geo-referenced information and integrated assessment models, we can evaluate the impact of different policy options on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving energy efficiency and adapting to climate change. This helps public entities to define urban and territorial planning strategies that are sustainable and climate resilient.
In addition, our advanced climate services provide valuable information on climate risks and available response options. This enables organizations to assess the expected impacts of climate change on their activities and develop effective mitigation and adaptation strategies.
