Conservation of multifunctional habitats of community interest.

We develop techniques and activities to conserve and manage natural resources, focusing especially on the conservation of habitats and species, particularly those of community interest.
Our focus is on the management of multifunctional habitats of special importance to society, where we propose new management models as conservation tools. In addition, we explore management models and technologies used in other sectors that can contribute to improve terrestrial biodiversity.
In this area, it is essential to have the collaboration of experts in each habitat or species, encouraging cooperation and participation to improve decision-making. We also have the capacity to evaluate the conservation status of habitats through the use of expert criteria and the application of remote sensors, which allows us to carry out continuous monitoring and follow-up.
We identify and propose solutions to disturbances of both biotic and abiotic origin, contributing to the improvement and restoration of ecosystems. In addition, we focus on the evaluation and development of ecosystem services linked to different ecosystems, recognizing their importance for nature as a whole.

PROBLEMS IT SOLVES

Our technological developments offer sustainable management alternatives, from an environmental and economic perspective, with the aim of improving the interactions of society in the rural forest environment and in protected areas. We seek to make the current human uses of the various economic sectors compatible with the conservation of habitats and species, assessing their impact and proposing restoration and management alternatives in the face of disturbances.
We face challenges such as habitat loss and biodiversity decline due to human activities and environmental change. Our work consists of developing solutions that reconcile the needs of society with the conservation of nature. We seek strategies that minimize the impact of human activities on ecosystems and promote the restoration of degraded habitats.
In addition, we strive to assess the ecosystem services provided by ecosystems, recognizing their importance for human health and well-being. This assessment allows us to highlight the need to conserve and properly manage natural resources to ensure a sustainable and resilient environment.
Our work focuses on developing technological solutions and management models that promote sustainability and conservation, working closely with experts in each habitat or species, encouraging participation and cooperation in order to make informed decisions.
