In the field of Industrial Biotechnology, our focus is on the design and development of innovative biotechnological processes for the production of high value-added compounds, such as biofuels and bioproducts.
In our technology center, we specialize in the characterization and analysis of the chemical composition of by-products, as well as in the identification of molecules of interest. We perform bioactivity assays both in vitro and in vivo to evaluate the potential of these molecules and extracts.
In addition, we carry out tests related to food quality and safety, working on the development of functional foods and the production of colorants and additives through biotechnological processes. We also carry out studies with microorganisms of application in the food industry and search for new sources of protein for human and animal food. In addition, we specialize in the detection of volatiles for the creation of unique aromatic profiles.

PROBLEMS IT SOLVES

Our work is focused on solving several problems in the field of Industrial Biotechnology. One of the main ones is the revaluation of by-products. Many by-products generated by different industries are discarded or underutilized, wasting their potential. Through our work of characterization and analysis of these by-products, we seek to identify molecules of interest and develop biotechnological processes that allow their use, generating new products and reducing waste.
Another problem we address is the design of new production lines for compounds of biological origin, thus reducing the use of petroleum derivatives and promoting a more sustainable and environmentally friendly production. We work in the search and development of biotechnological alternatives that allow us to obtain high added value bioproducts, reducing the dependence on non-renewable resources and contributing to the reduction of polluting emissions.
In addition, we focus on the search for new, healthier and more environmentally friendly foods. Through the application of biotechnological techniques, we develop functional foods with nutritional properties and health benefits. We also work on the production of natural colorants and additives, avoiding the use of harmful chemical compounds.
Our objective is to offer innovative and environmentally friendly alternatives, contributing to the revaluation of by-products and promoting a more sustainable production in the industry.
