In our center we have an Environmental Sustainability Area that aims to support companies, public and private entities in reducing the environmental impacts associated with their processes, services and products throughout their value chain.
Our expertise covers different sectors, such as food, transportation, construction and machine tools. We use tools such as life cycle analysis (LCA), life cycle cost (LCC) and social cost (LSC) assessment, eco-design and environmental communication. In addition, we have developed software applied to environmental intelligence, which allows us to offer advanced technological solutions.
We have been working in this field for more than 20 years, consolidating our position in sustainable management and participating in numerous research, development and innovation projects. In our environmental sustainability line, we offer technological and strategic solutions to address current environmental challenges. We work on the transition to a circular economy model, develop data-driven decision-making tools and support environmental communication to foster a more sustainable future…

PROBLEMS IT SOLVES

In a world where the exploitation of natural resources and the generation of waste are of increasing concern, our Environmental Sustainability Area is immersed in new research, development and innovation projects. Our main objective is to promote the transition from the current linear economic model, based on “use and throw away”, to a new circular economy model.
In this approach, we apply our expertise in eco-design, implementation of recycling, reuse and product life extension technologies, as well as the servitization of capital goods machines (a process through which manufacturing companies redefine their business strategy and evolve towards a service-based model). Our involvement in the evaluation and promotion of new business opportunities based on the circular economy also allows us to identify rural development opportunities.
Through the automatic capture of data from industrial plants, their modeling and the development of automatic environmental impact calculation modules, we create environmental decision-making tools. These tools allow industrial organizations to improve their efficiency and reduce their environmental impact.
We also provide support in environmental communication strategies for products and organizations. We recognize the importance of transmitting the values of sustainability and commitment to the environment, and we collaborate in the dissemination of relevant information on the environmental benefits of products and the actions taken by organizations.
