On World Soil Day, and within the framework of promoting sustainability and responsible resource management, the Technology Centers of Castilla y Le\u00f3n, Itagra <\/a>and Cesefor<\/a>, stand out with innovative projects for the sustainable management of natural resources in initiatives that address environmental and climate challenges. Through the use of advanced technology and collaborative approaches, these projects boost soil, water and biodiversity conservation, strengthening the rural economy and resilience in the face of climate change. <\/p>\n\n

Phos4cycle, the sustainable use of soil and water<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Itagra <\/a>leads this Interreg Sudoe project focused on the monitoring of phosphates from agricultural and livestock activities, minimizing their impact on river basins in France, Spain and Portugal. Phos4cycle <\/a>uses remote technology, the project analyzes physicochemical parameters of water, soil and sediments to develop predictive models to reduce pollution. This innovative approach promotes the protection of natural resources in the Sudoe area. <\/p>\n\n

Cesefor <\/a>and its commitment to restore ecosystems:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

SUPERB:<\/strong> This European project addresses the restoration of forest ecosystems in the face of fires and other climate challenges. In El Bierzo, mixed forests are planted for brown bears and degraded habitats are restored, combining sustainability with rural development. Soil meta-taxonomy helps to understand the relationship between microbial biodiversity and land degradation. More information<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n

ONEforest:<\/strong> Focused on sustainable forest management, this project addresses climate challenges such as droughts and fires. With studies in Soria and Catalonia, it evaluates how forest management practices influence soil biodiversity, integrating decision-making tools to balance environmental, social and economic interests. AGROFOres:<\/strong> Seeks to recover unproductive land and promote multifunctional agroforestry systems in Castilla y Le\u00f3n and Extremadura. Through advanced techniques, such as metataxonomy in olive and chestnut groves, it promotes biodiversity and reduces the risk of fires, strengthening the rural economy.
