Dependence on fossil fuels remains a global challenge, but the transition to clean energies such as solar, wind and biomass is shaping the future of the energy sector. <\/p>\n\n<p>In this context, the <strong>technology centers of Castilla y Le\u00f3n<\/strong> are leading the development of innovative solutions that allow a more efficient use of energy resources, reducing the environmental impact and promoting the circular economy. From <strong>NODDO<\/strong>, we promote innovation in energy with strategic projects that address the generation, distribution and storage of energy in a sustainable way. <\/p>\n\n<p>Here are some of the most outstanding projects that are transforming the energy sector and leading the way towards a more efficient and environmentally friendly model.<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:34px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p><strong>Innovative projects in sustainable energy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.icamcyl.com\/?utm_source=noddo.es&amp;utm_medium=link&amp;utm_id=linkbuilding&amp;utm_content=es\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.icamcyl.com\/?utm_source=noddo.es&amp;utm_medium=link&amp;utm_id=linkbuilding&amp;utm_content=es\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">ICAMCyL<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>REMHub Project<\/strong>. <strong>Transforming the rare earths value chain in Europe for a sustainable energy transition.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>Rare earths are essential for the production of wind turbines and electric vehicle batteries, key technologies in the energy transition. However, the European Union is <strong>90% dependent on imports<\/strong>, many of them from countries with unsustainable mining practices. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/remhub.eu\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/remhub.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">REMHub<\/a> <\/strong>brings:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Creating a more sustainable and resilient <strong>European supply chain<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The use of <strong>digital twins<\/strong> to improve traceability and sustainability in the extraction and use of these materials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Development of new <strong>recycling chains<\/strong> to reuse rare earths instead of relying on traditional mining.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contribution to <strong>Europe&#8217;s energy independence<\/strong>, reducing dependence on critical raw materials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>This ambitious project, which has <strong>24 partners from 6 countries and a budget of 18 million euros<\/strong>, will run for 4 years, positioning Europe as a benchmark in the sustainable management of rare earths.<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:12px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p><strong>ExpSkills-REM<\/strong>. <strong>Key training for an energy future less dependent on imports.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>The success of the energy transition depends not only on technology, but also on <strong>trained human talent<\/strong>. The <a href=\"https:\/\/expskills-rem.eu\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/expskills-rem.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">ExpSkills-REM<\/a> project seeks to prepare professionals in the sector in the management of rare earth magnets, which are essential in wind generators and electric motors. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Project benefits:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Strengthening European industry<\/strong>, reducing the need to import strategic materials.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Training of engineers and technicians<\/strong> in innovation, recycling and efficient management of these materials.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Promoting startups and SMEs<\/strong>, fostering the knowledge economy in clean energy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>This course, which will run until <strong>July 2025<\/strong>, will enable more professionals to provide innovative solutions in the EU&#8217;s ecological transition.<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cartif.es\/?utm_source=noddo.es&amp;utm_medium=link&amp;utm_id=linkbuilding&amp;utm_content=es\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.cartif.es\/?utm_source=noddo.es&amp;utm_medium=link&amp;utm_id=linkbuilding&amp;utm_content=es\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">CARTIF<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>LIFE NEXUS<\/strong>. <strong>Water networks converted into clean energy sources.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Water<\/strong> is not only vital for life, but can also be a source of renewable energy. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifenexus.eu\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.lifenexus.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">LIFE NEXUS<\/a> project has demonstrated that it is possible to recover the energy wasted in water distribution networks through <strong>mini-hydro<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>How does it work?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Excess pressure in the pipelines<\/strong> is used to generate electricity by means of <strong>pumps operating as turbines (PaT).<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An <strong>electrical storage<\/strong> system is integrated to optimize the use of the energy generated.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The system installed at the <strong>Porma (Le\u00f3n)<\/strong> water treatment plant covers <strong>100% of the facility&#8217;s electricity consumption<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><strong>Project impact:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Renewable energy generation in existing infrastructures<\/strong>, without additional environmental impact.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Reduction of water losses<\/strong> in the distribution network.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Global applicability<\/strong>, allowing this model to be replicated in other cities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>This project, which was completed after <strong>4 years of development<\/strong>, has made Le\u00f3n a benchmark in <strong>energy innovation applied to water.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:12px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p><strong>iAMP-Hydro<\/strong>. <strong>Digitalization and optimization of hydroelectric power plants.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>Hydropower is one of the most established renewable sources, but it still has room for improvement. The<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iamp-hydro.eu\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.iamp-hydro.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"> iAMP-Hydro<\/a> project uses <strong>artificial intelligence and digitalization<\/strong> to make power plants more efficient and sustainable. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Key benefits:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Predictive maintenance<\/strong> of turbines to reduce failures and improve efficiency.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Monitoring the ecological status<\/strong> of reservoirs for sustainable water use.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Optimization of flow forecasting<\/strong>, allowing better management of energy production.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>Simulations have already been carried out in reservoirs in Granada, with accurate predictions of water levels and power generation.<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:12px\" aria-hidden=\"true\"
