On World Climate Day, innovation plays a key role in the response to climate change, especially when it is born from applied knowledge and territorial commitment. Rooted technology that provides a climate response from the field and the forest is already a reality thanks to projects led by the technology centers of Castilla y Le\u00f3n, which integrate science, digitization and sustainable models in strategic sectors such as agriculture and forest management. <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

World Climate Day is celebrated every March 26,<\/strong> a key date to reflect on the influence that climate has on our lives and the impact that our actions have on the environment. In a context marked by climate change, environmental degradation and biodiversity loss, technology centers emerge as strategic actors<\/strong> in the transformation towards more sustainable and resilient models. <\/p>\n\n

From the development of digital solutions for carbon management in agriculture, to the creation of tools that enhance the forest economy based on ecosystem services, the technology centers associated with NODDO are at the forefront of the climate fight. Their contribution is key for strategic sectors such as agri-food, energy, habitat and environment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

FARMS4CLIMATE – AIR Institute<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Coordinated by AIR Institute<\/a>, FARMS4CLIMATE (F4C)<\/strong> is an ambitious European project that is committed to regenerative, connected and carbon-efficient agriculture. Through the implementation of six Living Labs in Mediterranean countries such as Italy, Egypt, Tunisia and Spain, F4C works with farmers, communities and experts to promote smart governance models and state-of-the-art digital tools. <\/p>\n\n

The project employs technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, blockchain and remote sensing<\/strong>, integrated into a decision support platform (DSS), to predict, monitor and optimize carbon sequestration. In addition to improving the profitability and resilience of agricultural systems, F4C seeks to democratize the access of small producers to carbon markets, generating new economic opportunities in rural areas. <\/p>\n\n

Eco2for – Cesefor<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Cesefor<\/a>‘s eco2for<\/strong> project is committed to improved forest management to turn forests into effective carbon sinks. This approach not only contributes to mitigating climate change, but also boosts the economy of rural areas with demographic challenges. <\/p>\n\n

Eco2for focuses on developing innovative methodologies and digital tools<\/strong> such as carbon calculators, project management platforms, remote sensing monitoring systems and even an AI-powered price observatory. It also includes a carbon credit traceability system using blockchain, aligned with international standards. <\/p>\n\n

SMURF – Cesefor<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n

With an eye on the EU’s 2030 forestry strategy<\/strong>, Cesefor<\/a>‘s SMURF<\/strong> project promotes the sustainable and profitable management of small forest farms. Among its main innovations are the development of methodologies adapted to nature, new digital platforms for carbon projects, and a marketplace with blockchain traceability<\/strong> that facilitates the marketing of credits with a focus on biodiversity. <\/p>\n\n

This integrated approach strengthens the European forestry value chain, offering training tools, technical support and viable business models for forest owners who, until now, have been left out of major climate compensation schemes.<\/p>\n\n
