Advanced digitization systems and intelligent management of historical cultural assets.

In our research, we focus on the development and application of digital technologies for cultural heritage, with a specific focus on the following areas in Building Information Modeling (BIM). Recognizing the uniqueness and sensitivity of the cultural heritage, we have adapted the BIM paradigm to meet your needs, giving rise to the concept of Heritage BIM (HBIM or H-BIM). HBIM is characterized by the multilingual semantic characterization of elements, their integration with graphical information and their guaranteed interoperability. This approach addresses an important and unresolved demand in the field of cultural heritage.

In addition, we face the challenge of updating and maintaining information over time through collaborative online platforms. This is crucial to comply with Directive 2014/24/EU, which requires the use of “BIM level 2” in public procurement projects.

Our research also focuses on the development of specific software tools to complement BIM environments. conventional. These tools add value and provide competitive advantages by arranging project information according to the ISO 19650 standard. This makes it possible to integrate all the necessary information in a single multidimensional digital model, covering from the initial documentation up to the conservation and dissemination of the heritage.

PROBLEMS IT SOLVES
  • Multilingual Semantic 3D-7D Modeling (HBIM / HBIM-GIS): We develop 3D-7D models that include multilingual semantic information for better understanding and management of cultural heritage.
  • Development of Libraries and Integration with Getty Thesauri (AAT and CONA): We created libraries and facilitated integration with Getty thesauri (Art & Architecture Thesaurus and Cultural Objects Name Authority) to standardize terminology used in cultural heritage.
  • Development of Plugins for Interoperability with REVIT (or equivalent): We create plugins that improve interoperability between BIM platforms such as REVIT, facilitating collaboration between cultural heritage professionals and the construction industry.
  • Digitization of the Artisan Sector: We develop technologies to digitize the artisan sector, including products, processes and services, by deploying customized hardware and software.
  • Intelligent Monitoring Systems for Control and Prediction of Deterioration of Movable Goods: We implement intelligent monitoring systems to control and predict the deterioration of movable assets, including photodegradation, in order to take preventive conservation measures.
  • Algorithm for Decision Making by Data Integration Multisource: We develop algorithms that integrate data from different sources to facilitate decision making in asset management.
  • Multitask Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Pattern and Behavior Detection: We use artificial intelligence and machine learning to detect patterns and behaviors in cultural heritage, enabling more efficient and predictive management.
  • Procedural and Technological Support for the Technical Inspection of Historic Buildings: We provide procedural and technological support for the technical inspection of historic buildings, including movable assets, ensuring their long-term conservation and preservation.
