In our research, we focus on the development and application of digital technologies for cultural heritage, with a specific focus on the following areas in Building Information Modeling (BIM). Recognizing the uniqueness and sensitivity of the cultural heritage, we have adapted the BIM paradigm to meet your needs, giving rise to the concept of Heritage BIM (HBIM or H-BIM). HBIM is characterized by the multilingual semantic characterization of elements, their integration with graphical information and their guaranteed interoperability. This approach addresses an important and unresolved demand in the field of cultural heritage.
In addition, we face the challenge of updating and maintaining information over time through collaborative online platforms. This is crucial to comply with Directive 2014/24/EU, which requires the use of “BIM level 2” in public procurement projects.
Our research also focuses on the development of specific software tools to complement BIM environments. conventional. These tools add value and provide competitive advantages by arranging project information according to the ISO 19650 standard. This makes it possible to integrate all the necessary information in a single multidimensional digital model, covering from the initial documentation up to the conservation and dissemination of the heritage.
