In NODDO, the Network of reference in innovation and technological development, a private non-profit organization that associates the nine technology centers of Castilla y León, we made our official presentation.
Last Monday, June 12, the Network of Technology Centers of Castilla y León, NODDO, a private non-profit organization that associates the nine technology centers of Castilla y León, and funded by the Junta de Castilla y León through the ICE, Institute for Business Competitiveness, was officially presented in an emblematic place of the city of Palencia, the Teatro Principal, with more than 120 attendees.
The President of NODDO, José María Vela Castresana opened the event where he highlighted the trajectory of the technology centers citing that “NODDO is the impulse that is needed to represent Castilla y León in national and international forums and to improve R+D+i. Promoting greater knowledge to industry and society”.
Then, the director of NODDO, Eduardo Andrés Martínez, presented the potential of NODDO, the challenges and opportunities, and the importance of the new network of Centers of Castilla y León. He stressed the idea that the technology centers are a reflection of the existing capabilities in Castilla y León, highlighting among other strengths, the importance of the network to boost competitiveness and productivity of companies through innovation, in an environment of increasingly large, complex and constantly evolving challenges.
NODDO connects the capabilities of the 9 Technological Centers of Castilla y LeónAIR Institute, CARTIF, Cesefor, CETECE technology center, CIDAUT, CTME – Miranda de Ebro Technology Center Foundation, ICAMCyL, itagra and ITCL, connects with the different actors of the innovative ecosystem of the region, and connects the technological needs of companies with applied solutions.
We are left with the following figures commented in the intervention of its director, and the commitment of NODDO as the main integrating agent of Castilla León in the field of R&D&I:

Technological challenges and networked innovation for competitiveness
At the presentation event, two round tables were held to discuss the technological challenges for the competitiveness of companies, the technological needs for a digital and sustainable economy, and the technological demand of companies through clusters as aggregators of that demand.
The Director ICEInstitute for Business Competitiveness of Castilla y León, Augusto Cobos Pérez, was the moderator of the first round table on the technological challenges for the competitiveness of companies, with the participation of the director of VITARTISCristina Ramírez de Lara, the director of FACYLAna Núñez Nava, the director of AEICEEnrique Cobreros García, and the director of SIVIMontse Fernández Chimente.
The key messages of the table were very powerful, highlighting ideas such as the challenge of efficient sustainability, and ecosystem and co-creation, entering into key and transversal aspects such as cybersecurity or smart manufacturing, and highlighting the importance of the role of NODDO for technological adaptation and boosting the knowledge of technology centers and its application.
In the second part of the event, the director of FEDITAureo Díaz-Carrasco, presented the KeyNote on the keys to the success of a Network of Technology Centers of reference, aligned with European objectives. In his interesting presentation and overview, he stressed the need for greater collaboration and networking, as well as the importance of having and consolidating structural funding and long-term vision.
Innovating in Networking for Competitiveness, was the second and last round table, moderated by the director of EU programs and territorial cooperation at CDTIMª Pilar González Gotor. The NODDO president, José María Vela Castresana, the director of NODDO, and the director of REDITGonzalo Belenguer Muncharaz, and Director BRTARikardo Bueno Zabalo. A table where we could listen and learn about the experience of other networks and the long road to its construction, the benefits of a consolidated network of centers for competitiveness, internationalization, and the strategic effort of infrastructure, basal funding and stable and sufficient commitment from public administrations, necessary to make it possible.
The event ended with the intervention of Helena González-Burón, specialist in science communication, who made a tour of the highlights of the event with the help of the visual thinker Fernando Abadía.
A presentation event that demonstrates the importance of creating a collaborative network of cooperation between innovation agents essential to meet the new challenges and offer the competitive advantages that companies need, from the hand of NODDO and the nine technology centers of Catilla y León.
