Materials of renewable origin and biodegradable end products

Biomaterials are materials and products developed from renewable and biodegradable resources. They seek to reduce the use of non-renewable materials and reduce the environmental impact of the production of conventional materials. They are most frequently used in applications such as packaging, textile products, construction materials and medical prostheses. The area of knowledge ranges from molecular design and properties as new materials, to the evaluation of their performance and sustainability.
